UTAH SAINTS: POWER TO THE BEATS

VIDEO

For information about the fan-made unofficial Utah Saints DVD, see the news page. Scroll down to the bottom half of this page for clips of videos that you can't find on YouTube.

The Internet is a clever thing. As well as the Utah Saints having a significant presence on MySpace (see below), thanks to the major video-sharing website YouTube you can now watch several Utah Saints promo videos online, including- and this is the big one- the video for the infamous unreleased single Rock! (though it is incorrectly labelled as being called 'Taxi Driver', when you watch the video you'll understand why).

And thanks to YouTube letting you embed videos in your own website, HERE THEY ARE! (scroll down for more clips)

"SOMETHING GOOD '08":

"BELIEVE IN ME":

"SOMETHING GOOD":

"WHAT CAN YOU DO FOR ME":

If you search YouTube for 'Utah Saints' you'll find a selection of other videos appear. Some are Manga-style home-edited videos created using "Utah Saints Take On The Theme From Mortal Kombat" as the soundtrack, but which aren't official promos. Some are to do with Mormons and nothing to do with the band at all. Here's some unusual others:

Yoko's Dream, a bizarre short film with a strong Utah link- skip on to about the 2:45 mark and be very confused.

The Utahs DJing in Scandinavia, September 2006 (great music, terrible sound quality)

A block of flats being demolished to the sound of Something Good

A severe storm in Barcelona to the sound of Lost Vagueness

Here's a selection of clips from other Utah Saints videos. Items appearing in this colour are currently offline.

I Still Think Of You

The Utah Saints' fifth single I Still Think Of You in 1994 was included as part of the UK film $hopping starring Jude Law and Sadie Frost. The film also included a snippet of an unreleased version of the Utah Saints track Highlander.

$hopping was directed by Paul Anderson, who has gone on to direct Mortal Kombat (which also included a Utah Saints track), Event Horizon, and Resident Evil. Paul Anderson also directed this music video- which features clips from the film, mixed in with footage of the band on a special set, and some computer graphics.

This clip video streams in RealMedia format and requires RealOne / RealPlayer.

What Can You Do For Me

The American version of the What Can You Do For Me video, shot for the 1993 US release of the track and based around the 1926 Melodic mix (the UK had a completely different video in 1991).

The video streams in RealMedia format and requires RealOne / RealPlayer.

Funky Music

The full video for the track Funky Music can currently be found at the official site www.utahsaints.com. There is little point (and not enough space!) to replicate it here.

There ws also a short student TV project, also called Funky Music, previously downloadable by members of the Utah Saints discussion list (see the links page) but currently offline.
